There’s never a dull moment in agriculture. Be sure not to miss today’s online opportunities for learning and networking. This includes the latest research on climate change and how it impacts farmers, as well as variety selection and disease management in organic food-grade grain production.

1

Climate change and agriculture

Climate change can disrupt food availability, reduce access to food and affect food quality. If this intrigues you, why not attend today’s free webinar on the impact of climate change on local agriculture?

The guest speaker is Jennifer Phillips, assistant professor at Bard Center for Environmental Policy in New York. She will present the latest research on what climate change means for farmers, and how she is working to be more climate resilient on her own farm.

Tune in at 19:00 until 20:00 tonight (Mzansi time). Click here for more.

2

Variety selection and disease management

The Organic Grain Resource and Information Network invites you to a webinar on variety selection and disease management in organic food-grade grain production.

This is hosted as part of a weekly workshop series on organic grain production. Brief presentations are followed by open discussion. Participation is free, but pre-registration is required for each session.

3

Global Forum on Food and Agriculture

This is your last chance to attend the 13th Global Forum on Food and Agriculture (GFFA) on feeding the world in the wake of a pandemic and climate change.

The GFFA is an annual conference organised by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. It addresses key questions regarding the future of the global agri-food industry, and attracts representatives from the worlds of agriculture, politics, business, science and civil society.

THE NEW FACE OF SOUTH AFRICAN AGRICULTURE

With 21 global awards in the first six years of its existence, Food For Mzansi is much more than an agriculture publication. It is a movement, unashamedly saluting the unsung heroes of South African agriculture. We believe in the power of agriculture to promote nation building and social cohesion by telling stories that are often overlooked by broader society.
